School Day

The 2020 Civil War Festival will take place in Downtown Hartville and at the Hartville City Park, which will be filled with camping soldiers demonstrating period crafts and cooking techniques, sutlers showcasing wares of the day.  A civilian area will show another side to the battles, with demonstrations of daily life in Missouri in 1863.  School Day is a wonderful opportunity to bring history alive for your students.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the grounds. While here children are allowed to: tour Union and Confederate Camps, visit with the demonstrators and re-enactors, talk with the civilians around camp,  and visit the various vendors. There will also be a few speakers to school day that will present on various topics.

School groups will be scheduled through out the day, and are strongly encouraged to RSVP to the event by e-mailing.  We want to make the day run as smoothly as possible, therefore schools will be scheduled an arrival time to the event.  We will try our best to work around school schedules.  Please contact Syrena VanEaton at 417-464-6292 or at [email protected] for specific questions.  Thanks!
