The Civil War Heritage Festival

In 1863, Hartville played host to a battle between the Confederate and Union armies during the War between the States. 2013 marked the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Hartville. Brad and Arita Bohannan, the current owners of the Steele Mansion, graciously offered the use of their property for the re-enactment. The area around the mansion will be transformed to allow people to really understand what life was like in the 1860's. The next re-enactment celebration date will take place in 2020. Planning meetings for the reenactment will begin in May of 2018. Please contact Janel Griffin at 417-1244.
